Updated December 5, 2023
Concrete slab casting started on some structures like the administration block and classroom blocks. Hostels and cafeteria foundation block work is at an advanced stage. We are racing against time to complete all substructure works before Christmas close down on 22nd December 2023. In maintaining the foundation levels well above the ground, our foundations blockwork are higher than normal averaging 1200mm high. The resultant extra block work and backfilling and compaction has led to completing the substructure works with the onset of rainy season.
Our team of young engineers (e.g. Tusayiwe and Chifundo) have been tasked to work on the drainage designs to meet international standards. They have assured me that they will come up with an acceptable layout to take care of the runoff on the site.
